In recent years, India has achieved several milestones by bringing the millions of its citizens into the mainstream by ensuring financial inclusion, creating digital national identities, addressing vulnerability through provision of banking and credit facilities, among others. Likewise, innovations in the distribution of cooking gas, solar energy and other renewable energy solutions offer tremendous scope for learning and replication. The success of these indigenous development interventions needs to be shared for wider dissemination among developing countries for further improvements in this regard have to be undertaken based on feedback. Therefore, a Global Development Initiative has been launched at RIS, which would play an extremely important role for sharing information and experiences in this regard. Eventually, it would be turned into a Global Development Centre (GDC).
